About VektraTool

VektraTool is a collection of free online tools for small, everyday jobs: shrinking a photo for an application form, working out a percentage, counting the words in an essay, or creating a QR code.

What we build

We currently offer 15 tools across 4 categories: image tools, calculator tools, text tools and utility tools. Each tool is designed to do one job well, work on phones as well as desktops, and load quickly.

How the tools work

Every tool on this site runs in your web browser. When you compress an image, convert a file, count words or generate a password, the work happens on your own device using standard browser technology. Your files, text and generated values are not uploaded to our servers.

Because processing is local, speed depends on your device. Very large images may take a few seconds on older phones, and each tool explains its limits on its page.

Our principles

  • The tool comes first. Pages open with the tool, not with long introductions.
  • Honest results. File sizes, calculations and counts are real, and we tell you when something can’t be done.
  • No signup. There are no accounts, and no tool asks for your email address.
  • Clear about data. Our privacy policy explains exactly what is and isn’t collected.

How the site is funded

The tools are free. To cover hosting and development, the site may display advertising. Ads are always labelled and kept separate from tool controls and results.

  • Needed for the site to work and to remember choices you make, such as this cookie choice and your light or dark theme. These cannot be switched off.

  • Help us understand which tools are used and whether they work, so we can improve them. Analytics never includes the files or text you put into tools. Not currently used on this site.

  • Lets Google personalise the ads you see based on your activity on other sites. Switched off, you still see ads, but they are not personalised; Google may still use cookies to limit how often you see an ad, prevent fraud and measure ads. Not currently used on this site.

  • Remember optional settings between visits, such as tool options you want kept, beyond what is strictly needed. Not currently used on this site.
